Hi all,has any one got any photo's of Chilka Dairy Maid, that they could send me?

 I am trying to do a family tree with pics,i think it would be nice to see the generations in pictures,

Thanks in advance to any one who has

I personnally haven't but I know someone who might.

I'll ask but can't promise so don't get your hopes up too high just in case.

Hi. One of these pups is Chilka Dairy Maid (litter born June 1983)

CROP_pearl_and_pups3.jpg

The lightish brindle far right is our Gem and I remember the very dark brindle far left is a male - but she could be any of the other six!

We visited the breeders when Gem was about a year old and the only puppy they had kept from the litter was this one (second from right, above) (see next post - pics too big).

I'm not convinced she's Dairy Maid though, although the records show that Dairy Maid was owned by the breeders when she had Nutshell of Nevedith. (Are you still with me?!) Possibly she was sold and then returned later but even so, why no mention of Chilka in her name?.l

The last pic is of the mother Pearl of Akonyte at Chilka, about 2 weeks before pups were born.

I'd love to see pics of your whippet(s) to see if there's any family resemblance.

(The bigger whippet in my sig. pic is Gem who died in 1996)

Let her go on a loose lead and just use voice and titbits to encourage her. At our ringcraft we train all breeds to go like this, dogs off leads as well, so that you cannot 'string them up'. Plenty of time for her to learn to go in a controlled manner with contact through the lead once they have learnt what is actually required of them. A lot of the time it is not the dog that is the problem but the handler being nervous or not knowing what they are doing!!!

Good luck!

Hi Dessie

we went to ringcraft she stood like a rock bless her,lol she didnt do so good on the mat,but when everyone had gone Scott (my son) walked her and she did brilliantly like a pro , (w00t) i think she will settle into it quicker than we thought, and once she gets used to the hussle and bussle she will be fine, she was haveing a good old sniff at all the other dogs and relaxed after a while,so from now on tuesday nights is booked for ringcraft :D

Well done Pegun, Scott and Rosie!! Have fun and enjoy!
