Claudia is very pretty and now really looks like a Whippet, but she is very little only 45cm 17 3/4") in this moment. It's weird she really does not look small, but I pull her up as much as I can to measure her and that what she is :b

Not that I particularly mind, I wish all the Whippets were smaller, but it is going to disadvantage us in the ring.

CLAUDIA LITTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (w00t) I think you should give yourself a pat on the back for breeding a correct size whippet bitch (17half to 18half inches). I am afraid a lot of people have lost their eye for size and the measuring stick should be brought back into the Ring both for aspiring judges and the real deal. Once the oldtimers knew every measurement on their leg so when a dog stood next to them they were pretty accurate about it's height. I have whippet lasses at my place who are Claudia's height and I never look at them as SMALL but correct size.

Yes a certain Arnold Raines knew the heights of particular chairs and a place on his knee so he always knew the size of whippets.

I just hope the judges will see it that way. For me 18 - 18.5" would be just perfect

I am just surprised as behind both of her parents are some big dogs, but even her brothers are not huge.

Haa haaa.... Claudia looks just as wild as her Aunty Kwik (w00t)

Alex's sister Kwik would only be 18.5" at a stretch, his other sisters were all nice & correct also... and if you look at Alex's sire's sister Lady Marmalade - she to is also a nice petite bitch. :wub:

Here in NZ we do have some bitches that are substantial, but mostly I would say our bitches are of correct size, our boys on the other hand are more of a challenge in the size department, but we are not special, that is pretty much a world wide issue

Valdassa Grappa is a very tall bitch as were some other dogs in that area of the pedigree, as well as some other OZ dogs. Genevieve is almost 19"

Nah, didn't take it that you meant the NZ link specifically I was just giving you a bit of insight to the direct dogs I have seen :wub: Our girly wirlys seem to be much smaller than our girls which if you liken it to humans is not dis-similar. Our boys are the challenge - and that is pretty much a world wide issue :thumbsup:
