Hi everyone, I have an old nearly 14 years Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has started with a blocked nose and now the nose is running a clear mucus discharge. Can anyone offer any instances where this has happened to their dog and what the outcome was.. I don't have dog insurance as I cancelled it due to poor cover and payout recently. Thank you

I don't have a dog with this problem, but I do have a very elderly cat who had... When the mucus was slight and clear, the vet was happy that it was simply due to narrowing of his nasal passageway, but then it became thick and opaque - he needed a long course of antibiotics to clear it up.

You do, unfortunately, need to see a vet because at your dog's age it is vital to get the right treatment as soon as possible - if there is anything brewing and infection gets hold it could weaken the dog enough to finish them off :-(

Do please let us know how it goes.
