Just tried to get on the hunting life & it looks lik its been closed due to spoilers :(

As of 21:00 on 26-10-08 the forum will be closing down, its been misused for long enough, the forum is for FRIENDLY hunting discussion, not arguements, petty comments, violence, and illegal posts that will and can be used against all out sports..

We are all in this for the same reason, we love or should love hunting and its related fieldsports, we should stand together not drag each other down..

Its been real good whilst it lasted anyway and i've made some great friends for life on here..

Good hunting everyone, hope this seasons a good one for you!

Ian

moochers next

only good one is rabbiters and a digging one

Just goes to show what happens if forums aren't moderated properly. Shame though for those of you who enjoyed it :(

A shame that.

theres a lesson to be learnt by some from this.

It's a shame when others spoil it for others who enjoy the forum.

UPDATE ITS BACK ON LINE

Right lets get this straight, we have a forum full of genuine people and a small minority of people whos real interest doesn't lie in hunting, but causing disruption on here and other sites...This is not what the forum is about, its about a common interest "hunting" , we need to stick together if its to stay here..

I've received a LOT of emails, which to be honest I'm touched by, people thanking for the site, the friends they've made, they truely appreciate the place, I've also had emails from people wanting to take it over, etc... Which isn't going to happen, well not while I'm still kicking anyway....

Theres been a few members removed from the site, and if the place stays online, which is only going to be temporary for now, I'm going to come down hard on anyone posting anything that can damage us or portray our sport in a bad light, but we NEED the MEMBERS support also in helping us with this...

The site takes a lot of time up for myself, and the time of the moderators who try to keep on top of things, which seems a thankless task at times... its very much appreciated though guys, its all too easy for someone to come on here and put others down...but as I say, things are going to change for the better..

I'll give it this chance... there a few that need a straightner yet.......

I was just wondering 'why don't they just remove the trouble causers?' looks like they have now!

Ian was teasing the good members by closing it for that short time.

Alot of people are saying he re-opened it as he was getting emails asking for there donations back, also people asking could they take the forum over for him.

THL is a good forum , but plagued by brain deads . It`s interesting to see that the best forums need hardly any moderation, for those who may not know I am a mod on The Whippet Forum and also run the Working Whippet Forum.

Good luck Ian, hope the relaunch goes ok , don`t let the lunatics get to you

Am glad it's back but am not surprised that those who run it got the jitters about things that get posted on there.

In a climate where a lot of things that people used to do openly and legally are now banned, it really doesn't help anyone's cause having people post repeatedly about how their dog 'accidentally' took 3 deer last night - thinking that a couple of whistley dudes at the end make it all ok :- " :- "

It all reflects badly on those who hunt - leading people to conclude 'hey, if they can't be trusted to stick within the law then we got a good case for banning anything that's currently still legal'

its ok if you have a bull cross or shot foxs with a bullet gun, but as a general rabbit, ratting fox digging site its crap.

oh and dont talk about plummers on there..lol

The consensus of that boards membership on whippets was `shivering little bastards` I think myself and others have educated them as to what a real working whippet is capable of :D

Not quite as macho as a big bull cross lurcher , but every bit as capable :D
