Today, we had fair weather and a slow paced afternoon, lubricated with plenty of tea and biscuits. All the dogs got three runs and so did most of the owners as the bike packed up. (Thanks to Alison for retrieving the lure for most of the afternoon).
Race format was 5 x 3 dog races, with mixed handicaps, drawn at random at the start, so there was a bit of luck thrown in for good measure.
Not that Anne and Pete's new dog, Leo, needed any luck, he won all of his races out-right, irrespective of handicap or competition. This is the third week in a row he has taken top spot - obviously a good prospect for the futrure.
Second was Exhibit, then 'Flute', Just Billy and Call Me Madam.
The trial dogs did really well today.
Peter and Tina's Harvey, went from slipping through the trap to full trapping, and with a muzzle for the first time. Also Lola was more confident this week and tracked the lure well.
Andrew and Alison ran Alfie, who normally won't go far from his 'Dad'. But even he stayed on the lure up the track today - a first.
And Sonny, Elaine and John's new pup, continues to trap and trial well.
Thanks to Henry for the extra help today - we hope his new pup that he gets in 4 weeks will bring lots of fun and excitment.
We should be running next week - if you would like to come, please let Anne know by Wednesday evening (even if you just want trials). 01283 222105
