does bran have the same effect in dogs as it does in humans.....(added fibre to relieve the symptoms)?

or any more ideas please.......

don't want to continue using lactulose if bran will do the job.....

Is it a male dog that is straining? If so it could be a prostate problem

No-our 10-11 year old bitch

I think it's going to be with her for good now-maybe an age thing?

She's fed the same as our other 6 but has developed this problem in the last 12 months or so.

She doesn't drink enough which is difficult to remedy.....????

Would she drink milk/water. 50/50 mix? It doesn't give mine the runs but they will drink that if they won't drink water when away ( in the cup from the flask not from a bowl!) :b Would she eat some veg? Raw liver might help, just a very small amount or you get the other effect.

Yeh-she eats most things-always has had veg....

likes milk/water.....too-may try that-thanks
