Hi Everyone

I'am new to this site, but just hoping to see if anyone would be interested if we were to hold a coursing comp on the SATURDAY EVENING before Pride of the Peaks, Derbyshire (20th Sep) It will be held on the showground, and as we ran the racing last year, we would like to add something extra for the lurcher folk this year. We hope to bring back the sat night entertainment and have camping available. Straight racing for lurchers, whippets, bedlingtons and terriers will be on the Sunday. I am really keen to get this up and running and hope for it to be an annual event, (Nothing concrete at the mo just putting out some feelers!) Cheers.

ABSOLUTELY ! Well done you for deciding to get this under way ! What a venue it is too and to finish the night off with the Marquee ho-down will be class.

Id say this year there should be at around 20 of us from Northern Ireland coming across so im sure youll get a helping hand set-up should you need it.

Great Stuff

We normally camp there so would definitely be interested also I know our friends would be keen as well

They used to have coursing & straight racing on the Sun but I think time was a problem with the finals & open show as well, it was virtually dusk & car headlights when it finished

Sat is good idea, the ground there is great.

I was a Pride of the Peaks virgin last year :b and dont do anything remotely 'coarse'ing  at all, but would love for there to be something going on on the Saturday night :D Bring it on !!!

Thanks for replies, hope to get a good amount of interest. 'The Woolpack Coursing Club' have asked, if anyone local to the Peak District would like to help out at any shows that are run in the area, then pm me and I'll pass on details. If weather is as good as last year, we should be on for a cracker!! I'll keep you all up to date with info on The Pride of the Peaks, Earth Dog Running Dog and The Manifold Valley Show which are all in the same area, Cheers!

Excellent! we would really like to get more whippets there this year, as only had 3 in the racing last year! which was a disappointment, as the whippet showing and racing has been running there from days of old! (Also did'nt get many for the bedlingtons either so would like to see more of these) :)
