I've just been into the Crufts website and looked at the number of entries for the Whippets. There's about 320 odd. I didn't realise they were so popular (but I'm not surprised!). The only other breed in the Hounds group that has more entries is the Afghan. Looking at the various groups overall, the whippets have one of the highest number of dogs entered for the show! I was quite surprised by this! It's obviously very competitive in the Whippet show world and very difficult to win at Crufts!
 
Yes, Whippets in the show world are a very difficult breed to win because of the numbers of dogs entered but the entries range from about 70 entried in Ireland to over 300 at Crufts. At the Whippet Club championship show last weekend there were 316 entered.
