Dawn, Lurcher, DOB 05.11 – Hayes, Middlesex
Homing Requirements: Dawn needs a supportive family to develop her confidence and skill acquisition. Dawn needs understanding of her Lurcher traits like food searching and lever door opening. Dawn needs a secure garden with 6’ foot fencing. Dawn needs ongoing training to capitalize and build on her gifts and engage her intelligence. Dawn is learning to settle when left, and needs a supportive programme when meeting strangers in her home. Not for cats or small furries. Can live as an only pet or with another dog.
Her Story: Found tied to a tree on the 5th November with a desperate note from an owner who could no longer meet her needs due to their health issues. We came forwards for her at the end of November as a frighten girl, she had just been spayed, vaccinated and chipped. She had brief spells in foster, didn't cope in kennels and has been fostered with her foster family since late March. She has improved greatly since.
Advert: Dawn is at her Dawning! Offered the right opportunities she will develop a substantial skill base. She has emerged into her own delicate Lurchery self, credit to the dedication of her fosterers. Dawn is relaxed with her loved ones but can get barky with visitors and needs a non-threatening introduction programme with patience to settle her. She has been around and loves people and children. Dawn enjoys other dogs company, could live with another and likes to meet them on her walks. Housetraining took a little time to establish. She is now comfortable getting in and out of the car and settled when travelling within.
Dawn is a 2 year old fawn coloured small framed Lurcher. She is sensitive and needs support in transition. She travels well without sickness usually. Dawn is gaining confidence with her fosterers support, is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. She is gentle in all she is and does providing she trusts. Dawn has chase drive so is best retained on an extender lead; not for a home with cats. Dawn is embracing new experiences with support, bravely with aptitude and adapts with opportunities.
