DEMI

Demi is a 3 year old greyhound bitch who has now been retired from racing. She is a lovely white girl with some brindle patches and is in quite good condition.

Demi is a lively girl and is full of fun. She would do very well in a fairly active home or perhaps with another youngish dog to help her burn off that extra steam. She loves to play chase with the other greyhounds and is definitely going to adore toys once she finds out all about them. She is a bubbly, fun loving personality that is going to be a joy to own.

Demi loves people and is always first on the scene when cuddles are being given out. She might be a perfect addition to a family home with children that would keep her busy during the day.

Demi has not yet been in a home before, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow her time to settle and adjust to the new house rules. It usually takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience. We don’t think its going to take Demi long to find the sofa!

Devious Demi gets on well with the other greyhounds in our kennels and is also good with small dogs. She has not been tested with cats yet but this can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Like most greyhounds, Demi will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 20min walks a day if she has another doggie friend to romp and stretch her legs with.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

**UPDATE 08/2010**

Demi continues to entertain us in kennels, and is a delightful little girl. She is comfortable with the routine and knows when her breakfast and walk times are by heart!

This gorgeous girl is currently being kenneled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Demi, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire which must be filled out prior to adoption. Thanks!
