My 1 year old frenchie now.sleeps in the kitchen in his bed. At 5am he's waking and being destructive, any tips? He's fine in the day alone when I'm at work but it's just this early destruction!

Do you think he's distressed, or just entertaining himself? If you're not sure, I'd set up a video cam to record him.

Agree with Judy about the camera to see whats happening but i wonder if the fact it gets light early and there is a lot of bird song etc might be what is waking him. I'd suggest moving his bed to a hallway where you can buffer him from light and noise more easily, maybe outside your bedroom so you can hush him or reassure him (depending on whether he is bored or distressed as Judy said).

Mine had a radio left on at night, the background noise of the radio masked out any other noise. They were out for the count until I got up.
