It's been nice to see the way that non-ped clubs have welcomed peds during this crises. Far too many ped racers have a "sniffy" attitude to the non-ped world. Let's hope we don't forget the magnaminity of the non-ped people when things finally return to normal In this day & age when dog owners are considered oddballs at best & an anti-social menace at worst by the powers that be, we should be forging closer links not keeping our distance from each other.

I agree Terry, it has been nice to be welcomed by the non ped people and clubs.  Our first whippet was a non ped, so we are not "sniffy" about the non pedigrees.  She was probably the most intelligent whippet we have owned.  When I first met Steve, I caught him sharing his cup of tea with her, she liked him and I knew I was on to a winner.  We did race briefly at Paulsgrove many years ago, (at least 20 years), but never quite got the bug that we have now for racing.  There has been talk of an open being staged at Fordingbridge for pedigrees, it just shows how helpful they have been in our times of need.  We haven't been down there yet but intend to sample some of their hospitality soon.  I believe Fordingbridge have an open each year where pedigrees are invited to run with the non peds, and they are given an allowance.  We should all support this open if possible, to pay back their kindness, whilst our own organisation is indifferent to getting back racing, or looking for alternative venues.
