Diabetes advice please

My 7 year old Dog was diagnosed with Diabetes 8 months ago. I give her insulin twice a day. I am looking for general advice. I have joined a group on facebook but most of the owners are from USA. Nearly all of them do their own blood counts, which I`ve not ever been advised on.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My friend had a diabetic dog and she did her own blood tests. I think she got a testing kit from he chemist. She did have to prick the dog's paw to draw blood and then test it against strip I think. You could ask your vet next time you are in. I used to work in a vet's and they do not mind giving this sort of advice if they think the owner is up to the job. The nurse might be helpful too.
