Slightly off topic here (although K9 wouldn't be half so interesting if people couldn't post pictures! :- ") I'm looking to replace our old digital camera and wondered if people have any recommendations - up to about £250. I'm taking so many pictures of Muffin these days that I would love something a bit better than we have at the moment even though it's only about 3 years old. Technology moves on so fast!

Any advice gratefully received.

We've go an Olympus c-460 zoom  .......It take's good picture's and was a whopping £65 off ebay  ........Saving us quite a bit :D

Hi there, my lady bought me for xmas the canon powershot A520, im well pleased with it, but if you have as you say £250 to play with then i suppose you can buy even better, but you cant go wrong with canon, ease of use on pc etc

just to add to that, get the biggest optical zoom u can afford, the A520 has 4 times optical

It depends what you want it for :) I only really wanted mine for taking pics of running whippets :b

so we've found that although we've only got a 3x optical zoom its more than enough for what we want it for, the reason is the more you zoom in the more light you need so you've got to slow your shutter speeds down  which is no good for speeding whippets :D

To be honest I think if you stick to one of the big makers you can't go far wrong  we've always stuck to Olympus cameras for no other reason than we've become so used to the controls :D

We've got an Olympus SP-350 zoom which cost £240 from Bristol Cameras but which ever one you do buy make sure to figure in the cost of a bigger memory card and rechargable batteries

Cheers

And you do that exceptionally well Steve! So it's either a good recommendation for the camera or you are an expert photographer! :- " :D

We have a Sony at the moment, not a bad little camera but now a bit outdated so we are looking for a new good all-rounder. I think you are probably right in saying that any of the well known makers produce good cameras so I shall do a bit more research on the internet.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

A little pic of Muffin to be going along with as it doens't really feel right to post without a photo as well!
