I have 3 dogs and my eldest is 14yrs 8mths. She has taken to barking during the night mostly every 3 hours. I know she feels lonely, my other 2 sleep on/under my bed as she used to but she can no longer climb the stairs. The barking must really annoy my neighbours I'm sure so I can't ignore her - also she needs to be let out., However once out she starts barking again. In fact she's either asleep or in/out barking almost 24/7.

This really stirs up my other 2 who are collies, they get anxious and we start the day in a bit of mayhem. The lack of sleep is getting to me too. Might anyone have any suggestions? I have occassionally tried sleeping on the sofa downstairs but in truth it is so uncomfortable and not a good solution in case she expects that every night.

Could all the dogs sleep downstairs? and have you tried creating a den for her downstairs so she has her own space?

Agree with hagrid. It would av been the first thing id try.

Many thanks Hagrid and Lurcherman. I will try this.
