Jade took Tigger to Devon on sunday, and she thought he ran much better than his first run the week before, so I thought I would step up the trainning. took him out free running to-night only to come home with a dislocated front outside toe. I tried to pop it back in but it wont go so its up the vets again tomorrow. Cant remember how long he will be of? any ideas.

usualy about 8 weeks Scotty Kipper has same problem pops out every run so just tape it now if i want to run him-- never same though once they are out=

sue who has sammy boy uses pigeon bands and has no problems, pips pride was the same and ran fine with them and got his title at nearly 6 years old

Yes Wendy thay were pigein bands, very easy to pop on and straight off again after a race so alot of ppl use them for toes now.

Poor Tigs he's having no luck, I hope he's back on the track soon Peter

paloma"s toe pops out every run, only thing you can do is make sure it is allright when you put him in the trap, i used to use the pigeon racing rubber leg band for samsara but stopped as she ran just as well without them

Update-

Poor old tig had it rough again, it appears when running his toe was forced out of joint, ie he had run on a stone or something, cos the vet said his tendons were so tight even he couldnt get it back in without causing loads of discomfort, so he had to go under general anestatic to get it back in.

He is being very melodramatic and sulking with a lovely pink bandage on his foot for the rest of the week, being thoroughly spoilt as normal, so back to 33lb soon then :b

Aww Tig :huggles:

You milk it for everything it is worth Tigger and I'm sure with a few extra pounds here and there you won't mind in the slightest :)) .

poor Tig well at lest your bandege is a nice pink colour hope your feeling better soon

:( poor tigger, just hope hes back racing soon

:) well its good there's no tendon damage he should be back racing before long, his mum ( Alabama ) raced all the time with her front toe's taped, and now she no longer racer's her toe's never come out,

:( :( Another trip to the vets today !!!after only having his sexy pink bandage off for a day his toe had come back out again and was not set properly, after another examination turns out the tendon damage is much worse then originally anticipated. :( so another minor op later and the toe was back in and set in the right place, is now bandaged again with a much more masculine blue vet wrap which he has to keep on til the 18th

He has no bloody luck that dog

Get well soon Tig

Flora our grey has a toe that pops out from time to time..

its got to the point that we just whop it back in quick while she's not looking and tape it for a few days.....

touch wood it hasnt happened for a while but we always check her feet after walks and stuff now...
