Last night when we were watching the tv - Ripples was snuggled under my sofa sick bed duvet and whipped up out of the covers, growled and looked in the corner of the room.. she sat looking at the same spot for about 5 minutes with a low throaty growl...

We live in a victorian cottage and the previous owner did die (in my bedroom) in the house but I am quite skeptical about these things..

Do you think dogs can see spools and spirits???

Years ago my first whippy Isis used always to get spooked walking up a particular lane, always at the same spot near an old tree- she would usually jump up the hedge and run through the field and meet me at the top of the lane. She would often be quivering or with her hackles up, but I couldnt ever see or hear anything that could have upset her and in any case, she wasnt a nervous or jumpy dog.

About 6 months or so after it had first happened I found out that a boy had hanged himself from the tree a few years previously

I am convinced she could "see" something I couldnt.. Isis never got over her fear of the lane although her daughter Painter never had a problem and neither did my Ridgeback

thats me not coming down then for xmas lol

Molly doesn't see ghosts but one of my cats does. I think he's applying the old 'smile- it makes people wonder what you're up to' adage most of the time, but he can be sat looking at one spot in the room with big wide open eyes and huge pupils for 5 or 10 minutes occasionally.

I don't believe in ghosts BTW, we just use that as a term for what he's doing.
