Dog Allergic To My Other Dog! Help!!!

My 9 year old cross bred has suddenly become allergic to my 12 month old jack russell. They play together fine but after a while the 9 year old starts sneezing and wheezing and his eyes run. He's on anti-hisatime tablets but i was wondering if you any of you had any ideas of what i could do to help.

Ive thought of using the Anti-Allergy wipes on the youngster each day to see if this helps.

any ideas would be much appreciated.

a dog allergic to a dog :blink: and after living with it for 12 months i think i would be looking elsewere for the problem

I've never heard of a dog being allergic to another dog - but I guess there's always a first! As Masta says, though, I'd be inclined to see if there way anything else that was a more likely cause. Perhaps the allergy is caused by something else but is triggered more when he's excited/playing?

Have you talked to your vet? The best bet might be to have proper allergy testing done to confirm whether the problem is definitely the other dog.

No harm trying the anti-allergy wipes, though!

i suppose anything possible.one of my dogs developed an allergy to flea bite saliva when he was 7 years old.according to my vet its possible for a dog to just wake up one morning and to have developed an allergy to something hes never been allergic to before.but ive never heard of a dog being allergic to another dog.
