the dog was an american bulldog, sad to see him put down but right imoRebecca Claire said:I can't remember the breed Maddy but it was truly aggressive and whenever the owner when to leave her own house it was a mission, it use to grab her by hugging her with its front legs round her waste, and at the start of the program when it was put in the kennel she couldn't put a collar on it as it started to jump up and bite her (she was scared of her dog, no question, mind you so would I be!) and when on the lead she would try to tell him NO and he was try and bite her - it even went to bite the examiner!!!!! :- " She had children and the concern was it wasn't trusted especially not with her children. She had three options i) to keep dog but muzzled all the time and not left with kids ii) re-home him (sadly no-one would take him on, way too many issues) iii) put him to sleep.
It was sad, but at the same time is was dangerous, even though she had him from a pup, sad to see a dog turn out like that
Do correct me Phill if I have put something down wrong!
I do agree with you Phill - some of them haven't a clue, some really do benefit from this training and make their dogs lives so much more enjoyable. There are a few breeds of dog I also really like, but just wouldn't suit my lifestyle - wish some people would look into the breed first
That will be the one - thank you :thumbsup:posh totty said:the dog was an american bulldog, sad to see him put down but right imoRebecca Claire said:I can't remember the breed Maddy but it was truly aggressive and whenever the owner when to leave her own house it was a mission, it use to grab her by hugging her with its front legs round her waste, and at the start of the program when it was put in the kennel she couldn't put a collar on it as it started to jump up and bite her (she was scared of her dog, no question, mind you so would I be!) and when on the lead she would try to tell him NO and he was try and bite her - it even went to bite the examiner!!!!! :- " She had children and the concern was it wasn't trusted especially not with her children. did you see the borzoi last night? omg!!! he was an absolute STUNNER!!!
i think you have to sort through the "lets be on tv element" , but on the whole i think the programme is good as the trainers all have different methods
Such a good point. There are some wonderful people out there wanting certain types of dog, but haven't quite got what it takes to be top dog - shame really as some of the dogs could be absolutely amazing in the right hands.Mini Me said:Very sad that the bulldog had to be put to sleep, but it did have to be put to sleep. Another case were in my opinion, the breeder of this dog need their wrists slapped as well. Just shows us how imortant it is to ensure our dogs go to the right homes. Sometimes what seems a 'good' home is not enough.
