Dog menopause

My last old yorkie, that I adopted at the age of 12 years(her previous owners were going to euthanize her because she'd become incontinent of urine)was given a hormone replacement medication(I can't remember which hormone) to help with her incontinence. My vet had said as they age and their hormone levels change, urinary incontinence can occur... It did indeed help, along side a good routine of toileting. So whilst they can continue to have seasons throughout their life,(hence no menopause), their reproductive hormone levels do change/drop. Is this correct would you say?
