Hi to all dog owners,

I am not a dog owner but not anti-dog in any way. I just love walking. Something that really puzzles me is why do dog owners go to the trouble of putting dog pooh in little plastic bags, which cannot be pleasant or easy, then hang the bags in trees and bushes??

Surely it is better to kick the muck under the bush to rot naturally rather than leave bags of pooh hanging in bushes to fester for months. On some walks some bushes are 'decorated' in this way by 10's of these bags.

Surely a terrible advert for dog ownership.

Comments please.

The people who bag it and leave it hanging in trees ain't proper dog owners? They are pretending to be one, let's get a dog for Xmas kind, I don't find clearing up after my dog a problem as it's the right thing to do, I for one have respect and I know lots on here also have respect so clearing up and disposing of the dogs mess isn't a problem.

I agree "puzzled man3" it would be far better to kick the poo to one side or under a bush and let it disperse naturally (it does not lake long to disperse).

Seeing plastic bags hanging on bushes and fences is quiet horrible! People even pick up poo's and either leave them on a bush or even hang them on the fence where our donkeys can get hold of them! These people need hanging on bushes and fences themselves. (Just foul and disgusting beings!)

We are dog owners ourselves.

I have done a straw poll of local dog owners about poo picking. The thing most people hate is not picking it up, but they hate carrying it around with them. I wonder, therefore, if this is why some people do this strange thing? Is it some sort of protest about there not being a bin to dispose of the poo?

Come on there's plenty of bins around isn't there? My area there's no excuse, I'm mainly in fields so it's a different matter.

There may be plenty of bins around in built up areas but we get them thrown onto our footpath or hung beside the style.

Either users should take them away or leave the poo to disperse under a bush somewhere.

Our local council only put bins in the village. Once you leave the village to walk the footpaths there is nowhere to put your bagged up dog poo. I pick it up and empty the bag under a bush or into a ditch etc.Invert the bag and put it in a designated pocket to dispose of when I get home. We don't have anyone decorating the hedges round here but I have seen it else where.
