These are a couple of quotes that I have in my files.

“There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.” -Ben Williams

“Anybody who doesn't know what soap tastes like never washed a dog”-Franklin P. Jones

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” - Josh Billings

“If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them.” -Phil Pastoret

Any more anyone?

Karen

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail

A man may smile and bid you hail

Yet wish you to the devil,

But when a good dog wags his tail

You know he's on the level.

there are several websites with loads of dog quotes on. I like the one I added to my sig last night :)

A favourite ... but very sad ...

Extracted from Kipling's poem The Power of the Dog ... "There is sorrow enough in the natural way from men and women to fill our day; And when we are certain of sorrow in store, why do we always arrange for more? Brothers and Sisters I bid you beware of giving your heart to a dog to tear ... When the body that lived at your single will, with its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!); When the spirit that answered your every mood is gone--wherever it goes--for good, you will discover how much you care, and will give your heart for the dog to tear ..."

That is beautiful. The following was a tribute to a lovely fawn Greyhound called Prince who never found his forever home

and died in Hersham Hounds kennels. He was no less loved and missed by the lovely people who look after these beautiful hounds. I came across this when my little rescue whippet cross, Tilly, was fighting for her life and I cried buckets. Tilly made it but for all those that don't :-

Should someone shed a tear for me

The I can leave here peacefully

Contents in knowing at the end

I have found that special friend

And everything that's gone before

is not important anymore

Your gift of love is mine to keep

As I slip into my final sleep.

I like:

Whoever said money can't buy you happiness forgot about small pupppies

and

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend

Inside a dog, it's too dark to read!

'The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs'

'Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole'.

'In dog years... I'm dead.'

'If it's not a whippet..... it's just a dog' :teehee:

'A home is just a house without a dog'
