Wanted advice on how much to charge daily for looking after a 8 month old puppy? I said £20 a day, originally when it was only going to be 2 days a week. But now its gone up to 4 days. I think I might be selling myself a bit short.

Do you think it would be unreasonable to ask for £25 a day?

You could break it down into an hourly rate and see what that comes to. Award yourself the hourly rate you think is right and then add up the hours you do.

Thanks. I pick him up at 8.30 and bring him back at 4.30, 8 hours. It would be £40 at £5 a day. But I think that is too much. The average cost for day care appears to be £15/£20 but most of these are kennel type boarding not one to one.

My local dog sitter charges £12 per hour. £30 for full day (feeding, walking, collecting/returning) and £40 for day and night.

So I don't think £25 is too much although perhaps for four days you might give a slightly cheaper rate.

They did ask you to do four days rather than two so they must have been more than happy with that rate or they would have used a kennels. Don't sell yourself too short.
