Dog start age training

Depends what you consider as "Training". Training in our household starts on day 1. Our puppies learn very quickly, in fact they love to learn, they learn good as well as bad equally as fast.

Training starts with the puppies name and potty training, simple words like "no" (which stops undesireable actions), your puppy needs to come so the word "come" and another simple word is "sit" learning words of praise like good boy or good girl. Keep your words for training simple and clear (no long sentences) and you must be consistant

Start from the first day that your puppy comes home, if this is 8 weeks of age this is fine and where all our training starts.

I agree- your puppy will start learning as soon as it arrives whether you train it or not! So make sure it learns good things, that doing what's asked for is rewarding, that you will be a safe and protective person to be around- and his or her making mistakes is just ignored and never punished. Basically if there's a puddle on the floor mop up and pretend it's not his fault.

Dogs can be trained at any age. Young puppies just need encouraging to do the right thing, then rewarded for doing it. Keep lessons short and simple. Older dogs can concentrate for longer. Go at your dog's pace and only train when you are feeling positive and happy.

Best of all, find a trainer from the APDT who will give you lots of up to date advice tailored to your needs.

As all of the above, start straight away and start getting your groundwork in and keep training to short sessions to begin with and just build bits of training into everyday life. ie ask for a sit before feeding, call from different rooms to start recall. think of the rule NILFF....Nothing In Life For Free

yes, find a suitable trainer that you like and agree with the way they train. You should be able to go and watch a training session before signing up.
