Yesterday a man was walking his Clumber Spaniel (10 or 11 months old), Rosie, in Muxton, Telford Shropshire.

He was in a housing area when he was approached by a man who said "i like your dog". The man pulled out a knife and threatened Rosie's owner to hand her over

Up until 5 months ago i lived on the road this happened on. It is a lovely area and you would not expect it to happen here. Just show's, it can happen anywhere.

Lets hope Rosie is found safe and well. :luck:

Absolutly disgusting your not safe to even walk your dogs now.

:luck: for Rosie hope shes found safe & well.

Disgusting

we had this around our area was a Staffie and I think was trying to get stollen for fighting purposes!!!

I hate these stories but its becoming more and more common place

Crossposted from a list that I'm on.

>It is with great regret and sadness that I have to report that I received a further phone call from Sue Smith this morning regarding Rosie. She had just been told by the police that Rosie had been killed by the people who attacked Dave.

Dave and his family are clearly very traumatised by this and I am sure you will all want to send your sympathies to them.

I do hope that the authorities will do everything to catch the perpetrators of this outrageous crime - an assault on Dave and now the killing of Rosie.

On a personal note, can I thank everybody for reacting so quickly to help locate Rosie. Whilst this has been a particularly sad end to the saga, it has been amazing how people from all sections of the dog community and, indeed, around the world have sprung into action to try and recover Rosie. Perhaps that is a bright side to what is otherwise a very distressing and concerning situation.

Look after your families and your dogs this Easter.

Best wishes and thanks again for all your help.

Sick b******s they should be hung for what they have done. Regards to Dave and his family at this sad time.

How terrible, the poor people must be out opf their minds, firstly with worry and then with this tragic outcome, please tell them how sorry dog lovers will be to hear this awful news.

It is getting to the stage where we will be frightened to take our dogs out, if we aren't safe walking in decent areas, where are we safe and what can we do about it?

:( how terrible poor people and poor little dog :( and only down the road from me

RIP ROSIE.

just what i was thinking??? doesnt make sense, unless she was killed in a dog fight??

How can people commit such a vile act. They are the lowest of the low, I know how I would like them to end up. My heart goes out to Rosie's owners and I cry for the poor thing herself for the fear, terror, bewilderment and pain she endured. I hope it was quick and that she rests in peace. But even though I did not know her I will cry for a while in pure misery at such a deed
