Hello, :huggles:

New to the group, I've recently been thinking of starting up a dog walking service in my area.
As doggy lovers, what would you say you'd value most from the service.
Any advice appreciated.
Thank you! :flowers:

Can only speak for myself, but walking the dogs is one of the advantages of having dogs, the only time I would be interested in a walking service is if for some reason I couldn't do it. If I was to use one I would need to be absolutely confidant that they would look after my dogs, that to me would come way above things like cost.

Yes, I love walking my dog too. Only if I was injured would I use a dog walker. I would want one that was clued up about breed specific behaviour. Someone who was confident around my dog. Someone with some other sort of doggy related qualifications such as vet nurse or kennel maid etc. I don't think I would trust my dog to someone who was just a dog lover with no work experience to go with it.

I use a dog walker on days when I am working. I do the early Morning, dinner time and last night walk myself and she comes in in the middle of the day. I have known her all my life and she is qualified in doggy first aid, dog behaviour etc etc.....any dog related course...she has done it and she is probably the only person I would trust with my dogs outwith my family. I know they are safe with her. She has strict protocol etc and I know of many dog walkers who don't....you would need to assure your clients you are reliable and that the dogs are happy and safe with you. I think, above all, it takes time to build up a level of trust with your customers before they would let you take their dogs. I agree with the above in that cost would not be high on my priorities. I would rather pay more for a service I am confident with!

Total trust is needed and to bring dog back in one peice, for me I've got no trust in anybody but myself but that just me in general, best of luck to you thow,
