dont want to scare monger but there is a few bugs going round equine flu if you look on the ngrc site it will tell you more about it there has been a few deaths in the greyhound world check the ngrc news section

i know of a few kennels that have withdrew greyhounds from race meetings.

there is a topic on GENERAL DISCUSSION GREYHOUNDS about it its mainly in the Kent area at the moment I believe gonna have a chat with my vet later see what he knows and what best precautions we can take at the opens

Maybe a good idea to take some Jeyes fluid and spray traps on Sunday ??---

cant do any harm can it--

steve

wouldn't have thought they travel that far for flapping tracks but better safe than sorry

its something we need to be aware of for the bwra events at stainforth however

what im saying lyn its not just flappers but open class racing dogs going up and down to top tracks all over the country

Just hope the greyhound men at Wessy & other tracks take the same precautions as we will be doing.

Sounds nasty :(

spoke to my vet his advice is a wet mat soaked in an antibacterial disinfectant for dogs to cross going on and off the track spraying of traps with same also to clean your dogs off back at your cars and don't stand around chatting with your dogs after the race put your dogs away then go and have a chat.

Little is known about the virus coming into the dog world but it is thought to be a contact virus so BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY
