ruby my 10month old pup has picked up a bug since sunday vet says theirs a lot of it going round down here he hasnt given her anything as yet but im syringing liuquids into her every hour shes just sleeping alot its really knocked the stuffing out of her i dont like seeing her like this as shes normally the very naughty one. she seems otherwise bright in herself.I want to give her some kaoline but wondered if this would be gentle enough for her tummy as shes not keeping much down. the vet said the bug seems to be in the dogs for about a week. Any help on what to give her to settle her tummy would be appreciated thanks.

try calien morphene mirrel thats sapposed to settle dogs tummys its worked for me (hope she gets better soon) :cheers:

thanks andrew will give that a try. if shes no better by saturday or sunday will take her back to vets all my other dogs seem fine they dont seem to of caught it touch wood.

Mirrel sorry to hear about Ruby she seemed fine when we saw you on the beach.

It must have came on quick does the vet think your others will go down with it

My Ella had the same a few weeks ago, she was sick and really not herself for 2 days, had me panicking and not sleeping, the old bugger. Vet prescribed some anti sickness medication and she picked up as fast as she went down with the bug.

Same here we had a few can down with it ...2 days and they were fine

gave ruby some pro soluble last night she has been very poorly been up with her since last sunday shes had me very worryed she mannaged to get up on her feet this morning which is a good sighn fingers crossed and all that. all my others seem fine trying to keep others well away from her and washing all dog stuff ect really well. shes lost an awful lot of weight so it will be a long few wks to get her back as i have to do it slowley small meals but often i really thought at one point i was loosing her not nice at all!
