The OHs three Akitas have just eaten a huge hole in the neighbours fence, got through and have messed all over her garden. She is not happy. They have been in her garden before and she was ok about it then but one of them has been barking for hours. It is the first time they have been outside for weeks and they are not happy. She says that she is going to report it and I can't say I blame her really, I wouldn't want three dogs like that in my garden. I expect though by tomorrow she will have calmed down and won't bother. Personally it would be a wake up call for the OH if something was done, he doesn't do anything with the dogs at all. The poor things don't even get walked  , I have offered but he says they get enough in the garden.

He is out mending the fence now and the dogs are indoors again.

I do not agree with the way he keeps them and he knows it but there is not much that I can do about it.

Maybe he needs a wake-up call? I can't believe he says they don't need walking, even though you've offered! Surely dogs of that size needs loads of exercise. They must have bust out of the fence in frustration! Lets hope he reviews the way he keeps them? :luck:

They do eat fences, it is not the first time that they have escaped, I have seen them with their mouths round the wood. He has just broken a toe mending the fence, well climbing back into his mum's garden after doing the repairs in the neighbours.

He says "Anyone want an Akita?"

His mum phoned him in the pub last night to say that the dogs were driving her mad. She is almost 70 and his nan is almost 100 and they really shouldn't have to put up with three hulking great dogs that are totally out of control.

Speaking to a friend last night (yeas I do have a few!!) who has Parsons and a Malamute, she said that a friend of hers is after an older Akita, he has a Dobie and a Rottie already and lives in 20 acres of ground. She is going to speak to him, it would have to be one of the bitches as the dog has auto-immune so he cannot go anywhere.
