THE GLAZEBROOK WINTER RACING STAKES 2009--2010.

A big thankyou to Gus and Sara for sponsoring this event.

This year it has been run over six months (we were unable to race in November/December because the ground was water logged).

Congratulations to the winners.

BRAMBLE owned by Susan Campbell has been unstoppable and at 6 years of age is remarkably fit, she has won the Under 23"'s with 16 points.Well done.

MURPHY owned by Barry Whitelock won the Over 23"'s. Even though he was out for two months with a foot injury.Well done for getting him fit and back into racing condition. Murphy won the last four race meetings and also has 16 points.

The winners will be presented with their prizes at the TOWN AND COUNTRY FAYRE AT MOTCOMBE ON JUNE 13TH after the Lurcher Racing.

The option will be open to the winners if they should so wish to race against each other for the overall Champion of Champions.

DORSET LURCHER RACING are running the straight racing at this show, 10 o'clock sign in for a 10.30 start.

The racing will be followed by a LURCHER SHOW run by Pat Quant, which has all the top qualifyers. Judge to be announced.

The show starts at 1 o' clock.

Our last meeting of this season is on Sunday MAY 23rd, 10.30 start.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Terry and I would like to say thankyou to our band of helpers, without whom we could not function. for your help, advice and physical imput,

Hollie, Lee, Sara, Badge. THANKYOU VERY MUCH.

WHEN WE ATTENDED THE LURCHER WORLD SHOW AT BROADLANDS THIS WEEKEND IT WAS REALLY GOOD TO SEE SOME OF THE YOUNG DOGS

BOUGHT ON BY DORSET LURCHER RACING, PERFORM SO WELL IN THE COMPETITIONS. HOPEFULLY THEIR OWNERS WERE AS PROUD OF THEM AS WE WERE. WELL DONE.

IT WAS ALSO NICE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE WHO WERE INTERESTED IN COMING RACING WITH US NEXT SEASON. WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE LURCHER SHOWS DURING THE SUMMER.

:( I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT OUR WINTER SEASON IS NEARLY OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR. DORSET LURCHER RACING WAS STARTED UP 5 YEARS AGO TO GIVE OUR FRIENDS LURCHERS SOMETHING DO DURING THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN THE HUNTING BAN CAME IN. IT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN TEACHING LOTS OF PUPS AND NOVICES TO CHASE THE LURE OVER THE YEARS, AND WE HAVE HAD AN AMAZING AMOUNT OF FUN WITH OUR OWN DOGS AS WELL.

PEOPLE HAVE COME AND GONE AS IT CAN BE VERY COLD IN THE DEPTHS OF WINTER BUT THE HARDY ONES ARE STILL WITH US AND WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANKYOU TO THEM FOR TURNING UP IN ALL WEATHERS. WE MAY BE COLD BUT THE DOGS LOVE IT.

LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL ON MAY 23RD (SUNDAY) AT 10.30 FOR A GOOD DAYS RACING.
