Hi, I'm Anne and I've just joined the community. My husband and I have recently took on 2 english springer spaniel puppies. Bess we have had from 8wks old and is now 20wks. Bobby we have only had for 1wk and he is now 10wks old. As you can imagine it is not easy but much harder than we first thought. The main worry is how rough they are in play.As Bess is 10wks older than Bobby she is a lot bigger so has the advantage. Bobby tries to give as good as he gets and is very fiesty but has twice had his ear bleeding. No lasting damage but feel so sorry for him. There's all sorts of other stuff but that to be told later. Does anyone have solid advice on how to deal with this. Thanks in advance Anne.

Have a read about littermate syndrome - it applies to any puppies of similar age, not just actual littermates.

Expect everything to be three times the work, for example you need to train everything to each puppy separately and then again together. And that part will take longer because of trying to keep them focussed.

And buy chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

Two Springer puppies so very close together, oh wow! what ever made you do that
Are these your first family dogs, do you have any human family, what are your work commitments?

Hi, No these aren't our first Springers. I've had them since being 16yrs old. We lost our old Springer boy Jez in May this year and he was nearly 14 and a half. He left such a massive hole and now we have 2. We are both retired so no problem there. Think we must have forgotten how hard puppies were as cannot remember Jez being much trouble. At the moment Bess is sleeping with Trev and the younger Bobby with me. He was having none of it with the crate so a few issues all round really. Thanks for your reply. Anne

Hi Joanne thanks I will read about that later in a quiet time. Always have chocolate in my cupboard.
