As Michelle said in her thread (Beckenham Canine Association) Drama did so well at her first show. I am just SO proud of my little baby girl. Seriously I am in tears at how proud I am of her!
She turned 6 months old on Thursday, my very first home-bred baby. Had her very first Open Show yesterday and I felt so underprepared! Ask TC - she went with me to my ringcraft on Wednesday and before we went I was freaking out because I didn't think I'd done enough with her.
Anyway, got to the show and she walked in all confidence. We got there plenty early, so I practiced with her walking in the ring, standing on the floor and the table, and put her away with Auntie Savvy (we don't want her learning bad whinging habits from Mummy or Auntie Chelsea), and waited our turn. We looked at the catalogue and figured, only 5 - 3 of them almost a year old -but at least we'll get placed, and as long as she does her best I'll be happy.
Well knock me over with a feather if she wasn't just an absolute little star!! A teensy bit fidgety on the table, but the judge (Patsy Bird) was very patient and very good with her. She moved an absolute DREAM - no pulling, no hanging back, just moving at the pace I set for her. She was a bit more fidgety standing at the end because Chelsea was 'cheering' her on (oops!).
And then she got pulled out 2nd, and we were told that it was VERY close between us and first....
I am SO extremely proud of her for her first show! I'm really looking forward to NWA next weekend (where I'm sure she'll now show me up since I've bragged on her LOL). The comments from round the ring were all very positive as well. So I'm absolutely chuffed to bits!
Photo thanks go to our friend Michelle (because Nick was in the other ring with Savannah) who used Nick's camera and was able to get far more photos than he would have been able to (as he'd have been hogtied to the chair so Drama wouldn't see him moving round). You got some really good ones, so thank you!

And well done to Marble who did very well, and to the other K9'ers who placed. I really enjoyed the show as a whole. It was really smoothly run, and a pleasant atmosphere. Although it's well out of our normal 'Open Show' area, I would definitely think about going again.
