Are dual or multi-sire matings accepted by the Kennel Club in the UK? And if so, are they frequently done with whippets? What is the general feeling about this practice of intentionally mating more than one sire to a female?

I would not have thought that this was an acceptable practice.

Me neither . . . But it is done and accepted in the USA and Australia. Once the pups are born their DNA is tested by an independent lab appointed by the kennel club (or union) to ascertain which pups belong to which sires to determine the paternal part of their pedigree.

One of the top whippet bitches in OZ, Ridgesetter Fly the Flag ("Electra"), recently had a dual sire litter.
