Deacon must have caught his ear in the undergrowth and although the cut was too small too see, my it bled! And everytime he shook his head it started again.Tried putting a bandage round his head but he kept getting it off.

How do you stop them bleeding?

You can buy a spray from a chemist ( for humans) which will stop bleeding but having checked with a phamacist I worked with it's fine for little whippets. I used it on cut on Hudson's leg and it worked well, not sure what it is called. Small nicks on ears really bleed badly.

Cornflour is good as an emergency measure to stop small wounds bleeding everywhere.

I used to use some stuff called 'Cut and Heal' spray for the horses, that was great.

Interesting  I suppose it makes sense if you think of how cornflour binds with water. I'm sure I read somewhere about teabags being used to stop bleeding but think that may have been for nails?
