I must be insane (w00t) We have our first outdoor agility show at easter & the weather forecast looks a bit grim to say the least. Snow (w00t) possibly.

I've just gone through my checklist...

Thermal jim jams

waterproof trousers & coat

fleecy dog coats for bedtime :b

Industrial strength tent pegs for the awning.

At least I'll be in a camper van & not like the poor souls in tents.

Just hope at least one of the lurchers wins a rosette & makes the hypothermia all worthwhile ;)

Is anyone else going anywhere at Easter or am I the only mad one?

Rafferty in the foot of your sleeping bag should keep your feet nice and warm. :p

Oooohh yes, Rafferty is such a warm little dog, he's like a furry hot water bottle. He'll be under the duvet all weekend

Hey Keith, Hetty Wainthrop can be pretty exciting at times, don't knock it :teehee:

If you're anywhere near Tattenhall ( near Wrexham) come along & freeze in a field with us instead.

If God had meant us to camp She wouldn't have invented Travel Lodges o:)

We are off in the campervan to Cromer in Norfolk today, seemed like a good idea as last Easter was really hot and gorgeous :- "

I will think of you when we are freezing, but like you say at least we are not in a tent :sweating:

Easter and camping just go together over here as well . Hope you have a great time in the campervan - want to see photos from the trials please  :luck:

We always went camping at Easter when I was a kid - lots of funny memories and it is the camping disasters that I remember most fondly :D

......like the time we were camping on the Murray one Easter and it rained solid for 2 days (never rains like that here any more). Our tents got flooded out - mud everywhere and a plague of frogs to boot. We had to evacuate and to this day I remember my dad (keen fisherman that he was) trying to put frogs in a bucket (to use as bait later). Well, we didn't have the heart to tell him that the frogs were jumping out as fast as he was putting them in :b

It was pretty touch and go getting the car out as the river was rising fast. Dad had to do some quick gear shifting with the old Holden which had a column gear stick (remember them  ) - anyway the bl**dy gear stick broke off in his hand  so dad had to quickly grab a spanner to use to change gears. I don't know why it was so funny - probably mass hysteria  but we were all killing ourselves with laughfter by this stage.

We finally made it to a motel - LUXURY - and when we went into the shower to wash off the caked on mud what was waiting in the corner but a few more FROGS!!

As I said earlier - often its when things go awry that the fun is had.

Have a great Easter everyone!

Crikey, after that story a bit of snow will be a doddle (w00t)

i've just been out & bought an extra thick quilt & I've got 2 hot water bottles so I'm sure we'll survive the weekend :)

Hope Cromer is good Ann, we went there a few years ago, there is a brilliant beach & sand dunes & woodlands just along the North coast at Holkham Bay. The dogs will love it.
