So much for going away this weekend :( As I was loading everything into the van this morning I got a call to say the show had been cancelled due to the awful weather conditions.

Apparently those people who went down there yesterday were up at 2a.m chasing their caravan awnings down the field (w00t)

The glass commentary box blew over & it was general mayhem.

It was wisely decided that holding an agility show was not going to be safe so sadly it was called off. So I've got a load of food & wine that needs to be used up this weekend so I'm sitting here in a lovely warm house with a glass of wine & some choccy :- "

I'm really fed up cos I was so looking forward to this first outdoor show of the season but I guess when I wake up in the middle of the night & can hear the wind howling outside, I may not be too sorry not to be in a small van in the middle of a big field :teehee:

tbh honest julie id have worried about you being outside in this weather its getting worse each day and i think youd have either been blowed away or snowed under.better to stay home with a nice glass of vino and some choccies and the dogs :huggles:

Sorry you've had to cancel your weekend's camping, but I think you're in the right place! Isn't it HORRENDOUS weather just now? I hope the people who were already there managed to get back home safely.

Awww poor you, what a disappointment :(

Mind you, snuggle up & have a nice lie in, in the warm instead & then have fun taking them on a great walk instead

Remember, everything happens for a reason & maybe it just wasnt meant to be 8)

Julie, there's lurcher racing at Highgate Greyhound Stadium (Goldthorpe near Barnsely) on if you feel like standing out in the cold and getting pneumonia (w00t)

We've got snow :(

But I hope it means I don't have to go to a posh but stiff and boring formal lunch tomorrow

What day is this on Jac?

Apart from the pneumonia bit it sounds good :))

Mind you I think my dogs are on strike now. Today some of us who should have been at the show all met up for a walk. We were out for over 3 hours & had sunshine, rain, snow, hail, lots of wind. All 3 dogs are flat out & snoring

I'd have loved to have gone on your arm Keithy but I didn't have to go because I had a migraine o:)

... tho once the painkiller kicked in, OH and I had a grand time in front of the fire watching a fillum on the telly and eating home-made lemon cake, cuddling the poochies on the sofa... and watching the snow falling outside

Beats a posh-nosh with the snobs anyday!!!

(though I do like nice foodies I can't be done with snobs and boasters  )
