I'm searching for places for my lurcher to lure course and I've come across a couple of older posts mentioning lurchers being able to run at EAWCC meetings.

Can anybody tell me if this is true, and if so how one goes about getting details and entering?

I live in Hertfordshire but am often in Essex and Suffolk, so the "EA" bit is interesting; my lurcher is just finishing his first full season of straight racing, he did about half a season in 2008, but in the two-and-a-half years I've had him (he's four) we've only managed to go coursing four times as most meetings are too far away for us to get to.

Many thanks.

Hello. EAWCC is currently in a suspended state (mothballed as it were) pending the general election and the expected or hoped for repealing of Hunting Act and the return to hare coursing. Please don 't hold your breath on this one. Joking aside however. Should it occur, I would expect a Phoenix moment as far as the club is concerned.

Aw, shame! I think there have been lure meetings (or at least one meeting) literally five minutes from where I often stay in Suffolk.

You don't know of anywhere else running lure meetings allowing lurchers in and around East Anglia by any chance? Years ago I used to take terriers to a club that ran sighthounds near Hanningfield in Essex and there was another club (Thameside?) which seems long since defunct.

There seem to be loads further north but I can't make the petrol pennies stretch that far!
