Sorry in advance if that has been asked before. Did a little search but didn't come up with something relative.

I would like to edit / modify one of my answers / messages, as I saw a spelling error... for example.

There is no edit button ... how do I do it?

Thanks for any replies on that... :)

Oh I just saw that this message has an edit button.

Does that mean that the chance to modify a post, disappears after a while? After a certain amount of time?

:b

I think that's it, I've noticed that too.

You can modify any of you posts within 10 minutes of making it (by selecting the edit link on your post) - after that it's too late.

Ok... got it! ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Just out of interest why is this? I only wonder cos a lot all the other forums I post in let you edit your post whenever - there's no time limit?

10 minutes is long enough to correct any spelling mistakes, posting errors etc.

After a post is made subsequent posts may refer to details in it. If after several days the original post is changed this could cause problems and be confusing to people reading the thread.

Nigel - is there any way of deleting a post when say youve put 2 on by mistake or decide to take it away ?

You've obviously not seen my spelling without the abc spellcheck! (w00t) :- "
