Is it possible please that we could have the facility to edit our posts for much longer after they were made than is currently allowed. Occasionally all of us post things that with hindsight we realise could be read the wrong way, e.g. I have recently commented that I have been guilty in the past of buying a pup from a less than reputable breeder because I felt I needed to rescue it, I wanted to add the caveat that this was years ago and does not refer to any of the breeders of my current dogs, but even though I only posted a little while ago I can't now make that edit. This is so frustrating. I'm sure I can't be the only one who encounters this problem from time to time.

You can always add a new post, or pm a moderator to edit it for you.

The time limit is there for a lot of reasons. One of which is to prevent 'hit and run' flaming where someone will post something really inflammatory, leave it there long enough for people to see/respond/retaliate, then all of a sudden the original post stirring it all up becomes something completely different.

I know it's frustrating. I can't remember what the time is on this board, but for a few I'm on I think it's about 15 minutes, which generally should be enough time for someone to decide they want to correct or change something.

I'm a really BAD one for hitting send and then re-reading it and making half a dozen changes to the wording or typos, so I DO totally understand where you're coming from. It's just finding a balance.

But as I said, you can ask a mod to edit for you or just add another post to clarify.
