Just wondering if anyone else has had a dog's microochip fail after just 18mths. Finn's was done September 07 and when I asked the vet to check it yesterday it couldn't be read. After three vet nurses and two vets had failed to get a reading, even though the chip could easily be located by feel, we got a new chip. I'm just really glad I asked them to check ... we're off on holiday with the boys soon and the thought that I could have lost him on the other side of the country where the address on his tag is meaningless and with a duff microchip is scary.

That's worrying

I shall get my gang's chips checked when I'm at the vet next.

Thanks for the info

Blimey...good job you checked.....i can feel gypsys, but i guess i should prob get itchecked just to be on the safe side

The vet checked all of my lot when we went Last

Alfie and Daisy's chips were 12 and 11 years old and both were fine, as was Blues at just over a year old

The vet seemed surprise that they were old numbers
