Hello all

I wondering if anyone could help us out? We are getting a dog next year but we are still figuring out which it will be! We are an active family with two boys aged 5 and 2-3 (ages when we get the dog)

We like walking and biking - we can't go for huge walks now as our sons are still little but they manage a 1mile maybe a but more or so and my eldest can go a 2-3miles on his bike. We go camping in the summer etc but as of yet we are not hiking up mountains or anything (like we did pre-children!) and we do have lazy days but we always get out at some point.

I will be at home so there will be someone here all day...so the most important thing for us is that the dog is good with everyone (I know this can be true of any breed but..) we have narrowed it down to a few and any opinions would be fab!

Pug - only concern is could it keep up with us - how only can you exercise one?

Tibetan Terrier - are they good with kids?

Keeshond - worried about shedding, don't mind a but of shedding...

Eurasier - worried about size, it says everywhere this is a medium dog but it looks big to me in pics! And the shedding!

Any thoughts on best breed?

Many thanks! :)

Why don't you try a small breed of (i.e shetland Collie),

Collies are hard workers and very anxious to please. They are also very intelligent and sensitive.

They normally get on with children, but best to try and get a pup when you have kids, they will all grow up together.

They will be fast enough for rough play with the older children, plus they can be very gentle with the youngsters.

They are very keen to learn new things.

Only downside is if you get a longer haired shetland the do need a good brushing, you can get shorter haired ones though.

But brushing is a small issue considering the pleasure a shetland can give.

Hope this helps
