Not so many racing today. Snow seemed to be the main culprit, stopping some from getting to us and others perhaps feared we would be under the white stuff! The going was however rather sticky than crunchy.

Lightweight heat wins :-Dearly Devoted, Xplicit

Final:- 1st Xplicit, 2nd (liiter sister) Conway Tear, 3rd Dearly Devoted, 4th Millipede.

Heavyweight heat wins:- Spennells Valley, Bowans Dream

Final:- 1st Darkling Sandfly (same litter as above, what a team!) 2nd Spellbinder, 3rd Spennells Valley, 4th Bowans Dream.

We were all delighted to see Viv's youngster Carlos pass his clearing trials with flying colours. He hasn't put a foot wrong from the start. He will race as 'Now't like the Devil'.

We hope to race again next week but the forcast next week looks VERY wet. We have had rain, snow, ice, who knows, perhaps a plague of frogs next?

We are hoping to run on the 28th, but watch this space as with all this rain and snow forcast on thursday the ground may be too wet.

i spoke to Judy today and we thought the same, the rain is forecast all week :(

Sadly, it is very wet here. Is anyone able to check the ground on Saturday?

I will be coming passed at about 4-00pm on Saturday if that is any help

If you could let us know what it's like, that would be great :D We have some members who are planning to travel quite a distance, and they don't want to travel that far to find the track is too wet to run on. If you could leave a message here Roy, we could spread the word after. It is forecast to be warmer the next couple of days, but lots of rain :(

Well done Carlos  , the whole litter are doing very well...........love the racing name, best of :luck: with him Viv

il be waiting to hear from you Roy, its abit of a treck for us and il be a bit   to come all that way and not be able to race

i think if the track can be checked as near to sunday as possible will be the great

fingers crossed to see you all Sunday

I,m with you Julie. I would love to know on Sat. if the ground is going to be O.K Sunday.,and dont want a long trek for nothing.....even if it is fun going to he pub!!Really want to race though. desperate to turn my little ginger labrador[aka Darkling Dragonfly] back into a whippet. lolGilly

This bloody weather eh? dont worry the weather will break before we do lol

Sorry Roy didn't notice your post when I posted my comment. It was only a suggestion. Billy has gone up to the track for us at times as he needs to check for the footballers, but anyway, Colin went and had a look today. He says the ground is great, no problems. We are not due too much rain tomorrow but Sunday is a different matter. The ground should be OK for sunday but what sundays weather does is a whole different matter. I will make up a programme but if it is teeming down on Sunday it will need a re-think, and will depend if people are prepared to run in the rain.

Would you cancel if it was raining hard?

Hi Lesley

The problem being it might not start raining until Sunday afternoon so it is a dificult one all you can do is wait until tomorow evening and if the track is fine and it should be then there is nothing you can do after all if people travel they have the option to race or not at leased the track is fine to race.

we are not sure if we will be coming as the weather predicts 70 mph winds!  i dont fancy driving in that :nuke:

Driving would be the least of your problems. Standing out in it to pick up dogs or line judge will sort the 'men from the boys'

I wouldn't listen to the weather forecasters, they said we would have torrential rain on Thursday, and we didn't have any!! Then last two days have been lovely. I think we will see what it's like when we get up on Sunday, and go from there.

You're always up early to let the chickens out Ju, if it's nice come on down, it will be great to see you :p

so the peppermints will be staying at home tomorrow, cant have Pa peppermint getting a chill, and i aint driving in weather conditions like that :nuke:

sorry folks

Looking at the forcast for tomorrow it looks like we will have to cancel racing, Sorry folks. :( :( The forcasts from all of the media channels I've checked say torrential rain from 3am Sunday, persisting down all day!

Don't know about you but I could do with not standing out in that all day.

Could you all pass the message on to those you know were comming. I will phone around too.

See you all next week, weather permitting.
