We are going to view a property first thing..2mins from the beach at the foot of snowdonia..very excited..think we just may have found a dream house within budget..fingers crossed anyway

Sooo, we went to look at the property, it belonged to an elderly gentleman so it needs a little cosmetic work. It has a huge garage joined to the bungalow that we would be able to convert to a bedroom and shower room for my disabled child really easily and quickly. It has a river running along side the property and its just a 2 min walk from the beach, totally surrounded by the mountains of Snowdonia national park..sounds perfect dosent it?...well we asked the estate agent why the property in that area was so cheap, they said because it was a very quiet village and there were not many facilities..we are fine with that, bu when we asked at the village store they said it was because of the proposal for a managed retreat..we knew nothing of this but after doing some research it appears that the local council will only pay for upkeep of sea defences until 2025, after that they are going to put a 'managed retreat ' in place and start to move people out of the village, basically by 2055 the village will be abandoned and left to the sea

. We fell so much in love with the place that my hubby kind of shrugged his shoulders saying well i will be in my 90's by 2055..will i care ..will i still be here?..he has a point..so we have some choices to make. The last time the village flooded was 70 years ago, some experts say it will take way longer for the sea to take the village, some others are saying basically in 50 years he village will be taken..so we have some research to do and a bit of thinking..is such a beautiful location ..knew there would be a catch as o why he properties were so cheap but didnt expect this one..
