Yes, my "Taisto" won open class, was Best Dog#4 and got his second CC. Now he only needs one CC to become a Finnish Champion! I'm so proud of him! :wub:

Yes, the same.

Here he is:

He was so difficult to show, he smelt something oputside the ring and decided that he wants to go there. So he was starding in a twist the whole time. I thought we had no chance, but obviously the judge liked Taisto and didn't mind about my bad handling. )

My apologies- just checked the ankc site - Thomas Munch is judging. 2 Oct Lana usually the sat before the hound club on the monday(public holiday in nsw). I'm sure that PO was lined up to do a show for the nsw club at some stage.

Mmmm - wish I could stay down south for that long, would love to get the NSW shows in as well. But I will have a passenger who must be back at work by end of Sept and so will I actually. It's a shame!

Last time I went down to Melb Spec. & Royal, I did the NSW shows on the way home and I thought they were the first weekend after the Melb Royal. So there were only a couple of days between Whippet day at the Royal and then the NSW shows. Perhaps the Royal is running later this year.

Thank you! It's really a great honour to win BIS in the Finnish Whippet specialty.

We can only say that our Woody, Ch Peperone Parahandy is really a dream come true! :wub: :wub: We are really happy and proud of him.

And also grateful to his breeders, Mr and Mrs McLeod who have done marvellous job with their breeding.

As we know, there are beautiful whippets in Woody's pedigree :wub:

... Our feet are not touching the ground yet...

Can anyone explain to me how the whole CC thing works in Finland cos there seem to be several of them at one show and I am confused! :wacko:

Hi!

Although I am from Sweden I think I understand how it works, hopefully..... Minna or Kirsi can correct me if I am wrong. Like in the UK there is one CC handed out for each sex at all shows accept for the main specialty (like the Finnish whippet club specialty) were the club can apply for more CC:s depending on the entry. The more entires the higher chance of more CC:s. This year two in dogs and three in bitches.

Just like Henrik sed. In our main specialty we can apply more CC:s. We can get 2 CC:s if we have 40-59 dogs in that sex and 3 CC:s if we have 60 or more, but 3 CC:s/sex is the top (and we don't count the number of entries, but the dogs who participate). This year we had 40 males so they got 2 CC:s, and over 60 bitches so they got 3 CC:s, and then we gave one res-CC/sex. In Finland Finnish Champions can't take CC:s so CC goes to the first dog who is not yet a Finnish Champion.
