FLO JO
Flo Jo is an 18mth old female greyhound. She has a gorgeous fawn brindle coat, though it is lacking in condition at the minute.
This sweet little girl is very timid and shy right now and seems quite bewildered by her new surroundings. She is a very gentle soul who needs an understanding, nurtering owner to lead her and show her not all new things are scary. Flo Jo has never raced and so might be cat friendly. This has not yet been tested, however. If required one can be organised prior to adoption. Little Flo Jo has never been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be understanding and patient during her 'settling in' period. She would make a lovely companion for the right people, and it would be so rewarding to help her come out of her shell.
Flo Jo is currently in kennels in Ireland, and can be transported to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This would be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
**UPDATE 05/2010**
Flo Jo has now travelled across to the UK where she is now in a foster home in Norfolk. She is finally getting to experience the love and comfort that only a home can offer, and is slowly learning that people aren't as scary as she thinks they are.
Flo Jo is going to need a very patient, nurturing owner who has an understanding of nervous dogs and can help her get over her timidness. She is fearful of loud noises and sudden movements right now, as well as strangers, especially men. Her fosterer has now started to work on this, but any training she gets now will need to be continued in her new home to insure a bump-free transition to her forever home.
Gentle little Flo Jo really needs her forever home now, after spending so much of her life fearful of everything. She deserves to learn how to properly relax and to feel safe in her environment. She is sure to be an extremely rewarding family member who will return whatever she gets in spades.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Flo Jo, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire. Thanks!
**UPDATE 06/2010**
Flo Jo is slowly settling in to her foster home now and is starting to come out of her shell. She is a dainty little girl that, though measuring in at 25 inches to the shoulder, appears smaller than she seems and curls up tight on the sofa. Her fosterers have nicknamed her 'Jo-Jo' and she is responding well to that. She is good with other dogs and has never raced. Flo Jo has quite bad kennel coat at the moment, but it wont take too long before she's a gorgeous shiny brindle girl.
Flo Jo has tons and tons of love to give to the right person, someone who will have the patience to not rush or force her in new situations and who will love her for what she is.
If you are interested in adopting Flo Jo, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire which must be filled out prior to adoption. Thanks!
