(w00t) dont get me started you can go forever on a tank of petrol trust me iv done it  takes about 30pnd to fill tank iv got a 1.2 ,definatly recomend them wev got 2 cars my little fiesta which is cheep as chips to run and then a little clio sport now thats dear on parts drinks like a fish and always in the garage for somit or other but my little festa well what can i say one of the most reliable cars iv owned and iv owned a few i can tell ya

I've got a Fiesta 1.2 Zetec Climate which is 18 months old and I love it!! About £32 quid to fill up and does upwards of 41mpg depending on how I drive!!

Oh yes! Good old Ford .....whether a new model Fiesta or an old one!

Always reasonable to buy parts for because they can hardly be classified as rare :- " , easy to maintain and very cost effective on fuel :D

The age of the car will always impact on how much it costs to keep on the road, but my stepson bought an N reg Fiesta for his first car (it had only had 2 owners) and when he went to Oz, he sold it - less that 9 months later - for a profit  He hardly spent anything on running it or MOTing it and it ran as smoothly as Nicky's sewing machine (w00t) :D

In my early driving days it was the Ford Cortina which was the chosen car to run for an easy life 8) Unfortunately, they kept getting nicked (w00t) .... just too easy to get into them in those days

Good luck with getting your car :luck: :luck:

My OH is very knowledgable about cars says he wouldn't recommend one :( He works as an engineer at Jaguar/Landrover who are part of the Ford group too :- "

I drive a Fiat Punto, which he thinks is fab - I get 47 to the gallon out of it and I'm no dawdler  Never had anything wrong with it and it's a lovely drive - even my VW but OH agrees, even though he's a bit embarassed to be seen in it

Thanks everyone. its looking likely that Ford Fiesta will be my next car, as its even cheaper to insure than my Ford Ka. Im bit sad to scrap my ka though cos it was my first and theres nothing wrong with it. :( But dad recons that since its R reg it will be difficult to sell. Do you think that the garage will take it for part exchange?

Fiat Puntos are nice cars and ive had some good responses from people owning them, however my dad is a retired fire fighter and says hes not convinced of the safety of em

my mum had a fiesta for years, never had any problems with it, i had a KA and loved it, now have a little ka street car not very practical but only use it when me and the o/h go out on our own.

I've got a Fiesta, and I would definately recommend them, infact I only like Ford's full stop! :sweating:

Oh right very interesting!

Other suggestion from my OH was a Seat or a Skoda Fabia - both good reliable cars

ive got a peugeot 107 (now thats a small car lol) it does 55mpg, £35 a yr road tax and costs barely anything to insure (w00t) .

I have a 2003 fiesta. Its fab, good on petrol i travel 70 miles a day for work. I have never eeally had any problems with it. The most important thing it fits my two whippys in!!
