Went to Fordingbridge today, got there about 10.15am, other members started to arrive, we got all the eqipement out , sorted out a race programme and started to race at 11.00am.
It was a brilliant day, the niggles with the lure from the previous meeting had been sorted out so away we went.
The racing had a light hearted approach as these meetings are intended to get our whippets race fit for the coming straight season.
A couple of our pedigree members had trials with their whippets, and then we got on with the racing.
It was nice to see Audrey give her dog Bally Boy a couple of runs, and I think she went home happy with his performance.
Shirley Ashworth also ran her two whippets, she was a little apprehensive at first but was delighted with their performances in the race.
Jane and Bert gave all their dogs a run, they are just begining to get their sprint form back after racing on the bends. We also ran our Blue Reflections, we are more than pleased with his progress as he has not had a run since last September.
the races were as follows
Ht 1
2 Four One 19 D/H
J.2.0 18 D/H
Bally Boy 17
You could not split the first two, and Bally Boy was not far behind them
Ht 2
Ludacris 31 3rd
Primus 30 2nd
Stella Lady 29 1st
A realy good run for Bert and Janes young charge, and Shirley had a very broad smile on her face

Become A Lady 25 3rd
Morpheous 21 2nd

A realy good day with a nice friendly group of people, we are all meeting again on Thursday for our evening racing, and then it is the Mid-West open here on Sunday 20th April. Everyone helped to put all the equipment away and we were on our way home about 1.00pm. It was nicely timed for us , as we got home the football had started and I had already prepared the Sunday lunch before we went racing so Bill is a very happy racer.
