A change in the weather today after last week when the track had a couple of puddles on it and wasn't suitable for running.
The sunshine was lovely and we had a really good turn out for our Sunday club racing. The members brought along 14 dogs between them to race and a couple of pups to trial.
Bert Madgwick did the club hanicapping and it worked very well
with some races finishing with almost a blanket finish , so well thought out Bert.
The young pups were given a 3yd lift off their weight, and the pedigrees were
given a 6yd lift off their weight, this is the club rules and it works really well.
We are all getting quite excited about our forthcoming open, John & Shirley
have been organising things for weeks now. Shirley has been negotiating with
the guy who owns the field that we are going to use for camping, to make sure the grass has been cut and collected up, she has been arranging with the groundsman so that the track is cut to a suitable length, and if necessary it can be watered.
John has arranged the Burger van, and the disco, and we have a key to the showers and toilets, so all we need is for the weather to be kind to us and it should
be a great week-end.
The next club meeting is on Thursday evening, some of us will be there from 4pm
At the Sunday club meetings people start to arrive from 10.am so come along if you are in the area you will be made to feel very welcome.
regards
Doreen
