So many oldie but goldies about aren't there

Brilliant song. Sax solo courtesy of Wesley McGoogan (sp?) who I once met, wonder whatever happened to him?

Got really curious so did a search on Google

Wesley Magoogan was considered an energetic saxophonist with the talent of playing the most sensitive and emotional melodies as well as the wildest ones. He added his extra special solo to Hazel O’Connor’s legendary Coffee and Tea song making it even more unforgettable. Wesley was member of Hazel O’Connor’s Megahype band in the early 80s. He played on the albums:

• Breaking Glass, 1980,

• Sons and Lovers, 1980,

• Cover Plus, 1981

and later on Hazel’s To Be Freed tour, which was released on the CD:

• Live...Over the Moon in 1993.

After Hazel (in the 80s) he joined The Beat (The English Beat in USA). Then played for many years with Billy Ocean. He recorded 4 albums for Joan Armatrading. He then spent time in Los Angeles and Nashville writing for Chaka Khan and Brenda Russell.

His playing career ended when he had an accident with a large circular saw which resulted in his fingers being cut off. They were sewn back together but he only has one hand that works properly.

His special sax playing has influenced and inspired many saxophonists and musicians all around the world.

Also discovered that he has a son, Lester, who has Down's Syndrome who has become an acclaimed artist.

What an interesting life he had didn't he :))

Wonder if he was with Billy Ocean when i saw him.
