Oldies Club are always in need of foster homes for the older dogs we bring into our care. We rescue and rehome only dogs of 7 years plus, as these dogs are so often overlooked within other rescues, and many of our dogs are considerably older. We only use foster homes as we don't feel kennels are the right place for elderly dogs - and it also means that all our dogs are well assessed in a home environment before rehoming.

We have a great deal of success in finding permanent homes for our Oldies, but need dedicated foster carers who can give our dogs loving care until permanent homes can be found. Some of our dogs stay in foster for only a few weeks, others may be in our care longer.

Most of our dogs come to us directly from previous homes with full history, and we take great care to match dogs to foster homes taking account of other pets, children and working hours. We are always on call to help with any settling in problems, and of course cover all vets bills for our foster dogs.

Older dogs can be wonderfully rewarding, they appreciate love and will repay all they are given in spades, but generally don't need the training and exercise a younger dog would require. Part of the reason we are continually recruiting new foster carers is because so many of our fosterers 'fail' and end up adopting their foster dogs permanently!

If you would like to know more about fostering for Oldies Club please have a look at our website http://www.oldies.org.uk/ or PM me and I'll arrange for our foster recruitment co-ordinator to contact you for an informal chat.
